Typically a meal at Nando’s ends up being considerably more expensive than other fast food restaurants. We needed to provide a reason for consumers to spend that little bit extra to dine at Nando’s.
We decided to highlight how Nando’s offers a far more enjoyable and satisfying dining experience than traditional fast food (e.g. table service, healthier and tastier Portuguese-style chicken, real cutlery and plates, etc.). This was cheekily conveyed via the concept of Nando’s giving diners a Portugasm.
The Portugasm campaign successfully changed perceptions of Nando’s with the public now viewing it more as a casual dining restaurant than a fast food chain.
